For the Ladies

23 December 2010

I bought gifts for a bunch of people, but there are some which I found were too plain. I got them cheap so I figured that I could make up for it by embellishing them a bit. These three tops are for my cousin, boyfriend’s sister and their cousin.

At first I laid the clothes out and sprinkled beads and sequins on them to visualize what I wanted to do. The tank top from Pink Soda was nice, but it needed a little sparkle:

I wanted to do a sort of “glittery shoulder pads” effect on the black blouse from Get Laud!. I was trying to decide which color to use. I ended up with the black for a classy subtle sparkle.

This vest was what I used for my Sunshine Corazon costume, and since I wasn’t planning on using vests anytime soon, I decided I should give it away…but not without prettifying it a little. I was trying to decide between a rectangular bar or a triangular design.

Finished products:

Tank top

Black blouse

Beige vest

  1. I love this page! I too am totally into finding nice, cheap clothes, and then embellishing in different ways. Check out my stuff on my blog: http://www.shoestringstylist.wordpress.com
    – I love the sequins on the shoulders of the dark top…. keep up the good work! : )

    • Wow, thank you! I don’t get much reader traffic, so I’m really surprised (in a good way) that you found your way here.
I love your blog as well 🙂 I sure could use helpful (and practical) tips in styling.
